Evader Story
2/Lt. Milo Aldrich Raim was the co-pilot of B-17 42-3488. After bailing out he just missed the tower of a town. This must have been in the area around Drachten in the province of Friesland. He first hid himself under a bridge until darkness. Soon after he contacted members of the Dutch resistance. He ended up in the house of family Jan Mulder at Moleneind NZ 182 in Drachten. Jan Mulder was the father of courier Tiny Mulder, who still lived at her parent’s home. Here Raim was joined another member of the crew, 2/Lt. Edwin F. Pollock, the pilot (E0223). After a few months hiding here, they moved to a young family in 'a village south of Workum'. In May 1944 they finally made their way to the south. They didn't get far. In Antwerp Pollock and Raim were arrested 'on a saturday' when their papers were checked in a tram.
