Description
The monument is constituted of a standing black granite panel, in which the names are engraved of the three airmen who lost their lives in this area; their framed pictures  are standing to the left of the panel.
History
Short Stirling  BK722 of RAF 218 'Gold Coast' Squadron took part on June 22, 1943 in a massive bombmission to Krefeld, Germany. En route to target, the aircraft was downed by night fighter pilot Hauptmann Eckart-Wilhelm von Bonin of the 6./NJG 1, flying Bf 110 G-4 G9+BP from St Trond (Sint-Truiden) airfield, Belgium.The ship exploded and came down burning along Chijnsgoed at Sterksel, near Eindhoven. The four other crewmen coul bale out in time and were taken prisoner.
